Before opening Fullenkamp Mediation, LLC, Joe Fullenkamp practiced for 35 years as an attorney in the Litigation Department of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. As a lawyer, Joe handled many types of litigation, including personal injury, product liability, commercial, contracts, construction law, insurance coverage, and breaches of representations and warranties in business acquisitions. Joe represented both plaintiffs and defendants in these types of matters. 

Joe’s interest in mediation started during his career as an attorney. He began representing clients in mediation soon after Indiana adopted its Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules in 1992. Because his legal practice was national in scope, Joe had the opportunity to work with many different mediators with different approaches from around the country.

Joe completed the mediator certification course in 2022 and is a registered mediator with the Indiana Supreme Court Commission for Continuing Legal Education. Joe has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of: Product Liability Litigation—Defense; Litigation—Construction; and Insurance Law. Joe was named a “Distinguished Barrister” by The Indiana Lawyer in 2013.
